ABOUT OUR EARLY LEARNING SERVICE
Wagtail Cottage has recently undergone extensive refurbishment. Located in the middle of the Mornington Peninsula, within a rural aspect. It was originally built as a doctor’s surgery with a garden designed by famous landscape gardener, Edna Walling.
We provide care for children from 6 weeks through to school age. Our centre prides itself on a warm friendly atmosphere that has often been referred to as an extension of the home. We aim to provide and offer care that compliments and extends on the home life, supporting families to meet their child’s needs to the best of our ability.
Our natural setting adds to the extention of home life, where the children are able to explore nature and be challenged by their investigations.
Our relationships with families and children is of utmost important to us and we strive to support our families and children to feel part of our Wagtail family.
We stand out above many centres with our community access program, where the children have the opportunities to access the community in many ways as of the programs within our centre.
MEET OUR SERVICE MANAGER
My name is Meg and I am the Service Manager at Wagtail Cottage Early Childhood Care and Education. I began my career in Early Childhood over 12 years ago and have progressed from Assisting Educator, Lead Educator, Second in Charge and now Service Manager.
Providing children with high quality education and care has always been my passion. I believe that the education and care children receive in their first five years helps shape the rest of their lives and I take enormous pride in being able to form relationships and contribute to shaping the futures of the many children I encounter.
As Service Manager at Wagtail Cottage, I am fortunate to be part of a wonderful team of Educators and community of families. The strong relationships shared between our Educators and the children and families, is a testament to the environment that we continue to nurture. I look forward to continuing to guide and mentor my team and continuing to foster a safe and secure environment where each child feels a strong sense of belonging and ensuring we are our Communities #1 choice for Early Childhood Education.

We promote an open door policy where families can visit the centre at any time during operational hours and are offered a walk through and an overview of what we provide and offer as a centre.

Once enrolled, the orientation process begins.
The orientation process is an arrangement made between families and staff that supports the family's needs.
