MEET OUR SERVICE MANAGER
Welcome to Sparrow Early Learning High Wycombe. My name is Ashleigh and I am the Service Manager. Here at Sparrow Early Learning High Wycombe, myself and my team pride ourselves on providing the best quality learning and care possible.
My passion for children and teaching began at a very young age. I remember days spent at my Nanna’s house where I would make her sit down while I read her a story and wrote things on the whiteboard for her to “Learn”. I would then take her tests into my teachers office and mark them always writing little messages on the bottom for feedback.
Upon graduating school I went straight to TAFE to study my Certificate 3 in Children’s Services. We had to find a Service for our practical assessment and as I lived in the area, I chose Buggles Forrestfield. I loved it so much that I stayed 9 years. I worked in all rooms in the service, from an Assistant Educator, Leading Educator, Curriculum Leader and then to the position of Service Manager.
I then found myself desiring to step out of my comfort zone and wanted to take on another challenge. The next logical step was to transfer and become the Service Manager at Sparrow Early Learning High Wycombe. I pride myself on the longevity I can bring to a Service and look forward to continuing to maintain the high standards that Sparrow Early Learning High Wycombe has and further challenge the educators to be the best educators they can for the children in our care.
I see my Service and families as an extended part of my family. I enjoy building strong positive relationships with each and every family, and child that enters the service. This gives all families the feeling of belonging and the comfort to get on with their days knowing that their child is gaining knowledge and blossoming surrounded by educators that truly believe in them.
I’m a strong believer in children learning through their own intentions – not because they are told to. Learning based on their own interests and curiosities. Exploring their world and gaining understanding of it in their own way, discovering all of life’s secrets. ‘Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded’ – Jess Lair.
All children just like adults are different and unique in their own way, they have their own thoughts, own ideas and interpretations. As educators we respect each child as the individual that they are.
Each child’s learning is documented by trained educators and used to create a portfolio consisting of learning stories, onwards adventures, intentional teaching and rich pieces of artwork. Programming is planned using the children’s interests and is both exciting and educational while being an enjoyable learning experience for all children.
The centre environments we have created are of the highest qualities as children deserve the best while exploring the environment. We are rich in natural resources and display all children’s artwork and learning with pride and purpose. We want families to have that warm cosy feeling while spending time within our service and I truly believe myself and my team create that environment.
Please feel free to come into the Service at any point to speak to myself or my team. We are lucky to be blessed in being a part of so many children’s learning and development. There is nothing more rewarding than what we do each day.
