SPARROW EARLY LEARNING
Jacobs Ridge 1, Queensland
ABOUT OUR EARLY LEARNING SERVICE
Welcome to Sparrow Early Learning Jacobs Ridge, located at the entrance of the Jacobs Ridge Estate in Ormeau. Our centre opened in February 2015 and we are 2 centres combined, each catering for 0-5years.
At Sparrow Early Learning Jacobs Ridge, we believe that building a strong community provides a safe and solid foundation for life long learning. We provide a play based program with an emphasis on the outdoors. We have an elephant that sprays water and the yard is 80% shaded allowing us more outside time.
We pride ourselves on our great relationships with our families and we welcome their contributions in all areas of learning, including service decisions. We like to work with our families as co-educators and we greatly value their input.
Sparrow Early Learning Jacobs Ridge 1 is a loving, warm environment where children can feel safe, secure and supported during their time with us. We acknowledge each child is unique and let all children learn and develop at their own pace.
All of our Educators are qualified and passionate about Early Childhood Education and Care, they aim to provide good quality care in all areas of the National Quality Standards and achieve good quality outcomes for all children.
We have a qualified Early Childhood Teacher working at the service who delivers a government approved Kindergarten Program to our kindergarten age children. Our goal is to ensure our kindergarten children are best prepared to transition to prep and the school environment.
MEET OUR SERVICE MANAGER
Hi, my name is Joanne and I am the Service Manager of Sparrow Early Learning Jacobs Ridge 1. I have been working in the Early Childhood industry since 1993 and hold an Advanced Diploma of Early Childhood.
Ever since I was young, working with children was what I was destined to do. I started babysitting and helping look after the children around our neighbourhood from 13 years old and here I still am today. I have worked in all positions within the centre, but teaching Preschool was one of my favourite jobs. I have been a Director for over 15years.
I commenced at the Service as the Manager when the Centre opened in 2015 and many of the Educators are also foundation team members. My dedicated Educators work closely with the community and families which has helped us build a sense of belonging for each and every family. I believe that creating an environment inclusive of everybody is what makes a great centre. We strive to provide a welcoming, friendly environment that the children can feel at home in and learn and grow.
We look forward to showing you around our lovely Centre and introducing you to our wonderful team of Educators.

WAITLIST & ENROLMENT PROCESS
We promote an open door policy where families can visit the centre at any time during operational hours and are offered a walk through and an overview of what we provide and offer as a centre.
Once families have completed a tour they will receive an enrolment pack with all necessary paperwork.
Once enrolled, the orientation process begins.
The orientation process is an arrangement made between families and staff that supports the family's needs.
