SOMERVILLE CHILDCARE & KINDERGARTEN

1/8
ABOUT OUR EARLY LEARNING SERVICE

Somerville Childcare and Kindergarten is situated in the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. We are an 80 place centre with 5 different play rooms for ages 6 weeks-5 years.

If your child has any food allergies you can talk to our cook at any-time to come up with alternative meal options.

We have a community yard that our whole centre shares together allowing our siblings to meet throughout the day. All rooms have time throughout the day to play outdoors in their own age groups as well. We encourage children to care for our gardens, watering them every-day. We also have a vegetable patch & fruit trees that the children can look after and use fresh produce in their room cooking experiences. Our worm farm & recycling bins assists children in gaining knowledge of sustainable practise to help our environment.

All rooms have quiet areas for children to rest at any-time of day.

We have regular excursions where small groups (with parent’s consent) visit Somercare Nursing Home on a fortnightly basis to get children out into the community & even visit grandparents & great grandparents that may be there.

Our educators use the Early Years Learning Framework to guide their educational programs. We have individual learning portfolios that parents & families can access at anytime.

MEET OUR SERVICE MANAGER

Hi my name is Hayley Jorgensen and I am the Service Manager of our wonderful Somerville Childcare & Kindergarten!

I have been in the early childhood industry for the last 8 years in a range of different roles, from an Assistant to Lead Educator. Working with children has always been a passion of mine and there is nothing better than seeing a child progress and develop and learn new things and knowing you played a part in that.

I believe children learn best when they feel safe, secure and supported and providing an environment that promotes these elements are what we pride our service on.

In my role as the Service Manager, I mentor and guide our educators to deliver the best educational program and quality care. It is such a privilege to have the opportunity to lead the exceptional group of educators here at Somerville Childcare & Kindergarten.
