Service Manager at our Childcare Centre, Mount Samson

I would like to introduce myself, as your Service Manager, I come to you with 36 years Early Childhood experience. I have worked in the following types of Early Childhood Services – local government services, not for profit services, private services and corporate services.

During this time, I have fulfilled many roles within the industry such as Lead Educator, 2IC, Centre Director/Service Manager, Area Manager, Regional Manager, Director Trainer and Early Childhood Trainer and Assessor. I have a genuine passion for Early Childhood education and the role we play in childrens’ lives. Read more.

I strongly believe that as Educators it is our role to nurture, inspire, encourage and challenge children in our care to be the best version of themselves that they can be. We do this through encouraging them to express and challenge themselves and each other. I believe if we provide an environment that is aesthetically appealing to a child, they develop a sense of belonging and want to take part in that environment. I want to create a home away from home. One where the children can be themselves and be accepted for who they are and what they can offer. One where they are respected, valued and recognised for their input and I want this for the educators as well.

I am excited to commence working alongside the educators here at the centre and providing the best quality of care and education that we can for your children and I look forward to meeting you all as the weeks go by.

A little about me:

I am originally from NSW – go the BLUES! Born in Newcastle. Up Up Cronulla.

I moved to Queensland in 2010, I have 3 children – Nicholas (son – 22), Peyton (daughter – 13) and Logan (daughter – 12), our Roxy (Maltese cross chitzu girl – turning 6), my husband Jayson and our guinea pigs – Brownie, Wynston, Stripey, Caramel, Cappuccino, Lamington, Nemo, Charlotte, Penny, Patricia, Teddy and Spirit. Nemo is our very special guinea pig and she has a handicap, one of her front paws is deformed, hence the name Nemo.

I love a good dress up, any excuse and I’m in! When we celebrate any dress ups for any occasions, I like to celebrate/recognise for the entire week so that no child misses out on the opportunity to be part of the FUN!

I am hoping that the transition is a smooth one and if there are any questions or queries I can assist with or any feedback you can offer, please come in and speak to me and I will endeavour to do my best to assist you.
